Palm oil is the most productive and consumed vegetable oil globally, derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree native to West African countries such as Nigeria. It is used in many food products and cosmetics. The oil is extracted from the pulp of the palm fruit. Palm oil is rich in vitamin A and E and moderate amounts promote cardiovascular health.
